The following services are offered in the
Washington, DC Office:
Individual psychotherapy involves meeting with a therapist to address issues that is affecting you to cope successfully. Common issues may include feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, relationship and grief and loss. The purpose of the sessions is to reduce problematic feelings and behaviors. Sessions are usually 45 to 60 minutes in length.
Family Counseling / Psychotherapy:
Family therapy is designed to help family members come together to work on communication patterns to strengthen the relationship with one another. Family therapy may involve children/adolescents and their parents. It may also involve siblings. We often use a systems approach in therapy to support the family.
Going through the adolescent stage can be overwhelming for a number of teens. It’s often difficult for them to verbalize their feelings. Counseling can help them to process how they are feeling and to address conflicts that might be occurring in their lives. The conflict may relate to peer pressure, a parent divorce, feeling good about self, and other struggles in their lives. Partnering with a counselor will provide an opportunity to work through these various emotions.
Substance Abuse Assessments and Evaluations:
Substance abuse assessments and evaluations for drug and alcoholic addictions may include the following: evaluation, educational information, and psychotherapy sessions. Our Certified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) will provide a brief or comprehensive assessments as needed. The assessments may be provided to an adult or adolescent. It may also be at the request of an attorney, court, schools, families, and the Department of Transportation (DOT). Each assessment will be individualized and based on the needs of the person. Reports will be provided following the assessments.
