Affordable Counseling with Professional Supervision

Our social work intern is a dedicated professional-in-training who provides quality counseling services under the close supervision of our licensed clinical staff. This supervised internship model allows us to offer therapeutic services at a reduced cost of $30 per session for those who do not have insurance, if we do not accept your insurance, or if you cannot afford our regular fees, while maintaining our high standards of care.

Through evidence-based therapeutic approaches and personalized treatment planning, our intern is committed to helping you develop coping strategies, improve emotional well-being, and work toward your therapeutic goals.

  • Teresa Christopher

    (Gainesville #2, Online)

    Teresa Christopher is Master of Social Work intern, pursuing her MSW at George Mason University to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has a special interest in working with veterans, older adolescence, and adults. She has experience supporting clients with trauma, coping/stress management, life challenges, anxiety, and depression; spiritual/faith-based counseling can be incorporated as requested. Additionally, Teresa has earned a graduate degree in Yoga Therapy from Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). She has served as a yoga therapist for the last three years, supporting clients experiencing mental, emotional, musculoskeletal, and life transition challenges. Teresa has provided services in home settings, schools, retreat centers, and through telehealth.

    Most recently, Teresa served at the Fauquier Family Shelter, a 52-bed rapid rehousing facility for individuals and families. In this role, she supported daily operations, conducted resident intakes, and collaborated with caseworkers while leading adult education workshops on stress management, nervous system awareness, and adaptive coping skills, all through a trauma-informed care lens.

    She is a certified yoga therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapy (C-IAYT), an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT), and a Yoga Alliance continuing education provider (YACEP). Teresa also holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from George Mason University, graduating magna cum laude, and is pursuing a Master of Social Work at George Mason University. A U.S. Army veteran, she began her yoga practice while deployed in Afghanistan and has since integrated her personal healing journey into her work with clients.
