Elena Acosta, MSW, LCSW (Bilingual Therapist)
(Gainesville #2, Online Therapy)
Elena Acosta is a licensed clinical social worker in Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from James Madison University (Class of 2017 Go Dukes!) and her Master of Social Work from Florida State University (2022).
Elena brings a diverse clinical background that includes private practice work with individuals across the lifespan, as well as experience providing substance use counseling. These experiences inform her culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach to care.
Elena has extensive experience working with adolescents navigating anxiety, stress, and emotional regulation challenges, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help teens build coping skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and increase confidence and resilience. She also supports adults facing anxiety, life transitions, relational challenges, and substance-related concerns.
Elena specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including sexual assault, and approaches this work with deep care, safety, and respect for each client’s pace and lived experience. Grounded in trauma-informed care, she integrates psychodynamic and narrative therapy approaches to help clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and personal stories shape current patterns while empowering them to reclaim their voice and sense of agency.
As a Latina therapist, Elena values authenticity, collaboration, and empowerment, and works intentionally to create a space where clients feel seen, validated, and supported. At Life Enrichment Counseling Center, she provides a holistic, individualized approach, tailoring evidence-based interventions to each person’s unique needs. She is particularly passionate about helping clients navigate anxiety, life transitions, relational trauma, substance use concerns, and healing from past experiences, while building sustainable tools to thrive emotionally and relationally.
